Carbon Fiber Structures
(0 products)Carbon Fiber Structures (Weaves & Patterns)
In this guide, we explain the differences between the carbon fiber structures we offer. We provide various weave types depending on the desired look and the manufacturer's original design.
1️⃣ Plain Weave (1x1)
Plain weave (1x1) is the classic carbon pattern.
It consists of a simple over-under weave, creating a uniform, symmetrical structure.
✔ Classic carbon look
✔ Very uniform pattern
✔ Timeless motorsport aesthetic
Many OEM carbon parts from Ducati Performance are made in plain weave (mostly in matte carbon).

2️⃣ Twill Weave (2x2)
Twill weave (2x2) follows an over-over-under-under pattern.
This creates the typical diagonal carbon structure with a more dynamic look.
✔ Modern, sporty look
✔ Particularly popular on sport motorcycles
✔ High-quality OEM appearance
OEM carbon parts from BMW, Kawasaki, Aprilia, Yamaha, and other manufacturers are predominantly made in twill weave.

3️⃣ Forged Carbon
Forged Carbon is a modern carbon technology.
It gained prominence with Lamborghini on the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento.
Here, small carbon fibers are randomly distributed in a mold and pressed under pressure. This creates an irregular, individual structure.
✔ Unique, random appearance
✔ Each surface is one-of-a-kind
✔ Very modern, exclusive look
